Growing up means the first ejaculation for them - for girls it's the first period. In large parts of the world, this seals the fate of girls: they are married off. Teenagers in the Western world are better off, but they still must struggle with the expectations of their gender.
We accompany a family in Los Angeles whose daughter officially becomes a "woman" at the age of 15. And an Israeli family whose son transitions to coming of age status at his bar mitzvah. We meet a young lesbian woman who tells how hard her coming out was. And we meet the trans* child from episode 1 again - on his difficult journey to change gender.
