Yes, but one thing remains unfair: Why can't women have children until they die - like polar bears, tigresses, or men? And what is it about the midlife crisis? No sooner does "man" become aware of his mortality than he rebels and asks himself: Am I still a "man" at all?
But once menopause and midlife crisis are over, men and women find a new balance. The question of whether one is "masculine" or "feminine" enough recedes into the background - giving room for flexible role models. So we do have something to look forward to after all.
