As a new member of the voluntary fire brigade, Marie is really supposed to only watch, but in a crucial moment, she’s the one to save a scared girl from the roof of her home.
Little Sophie seeks Marie’s company after that, and soon it becomes clear why she undertook the dangerous venture: the girl had coincidentally found out that her beloved father Matthias is not her biological father. Marie wants to help the family reunite again.
Especially because Marie raised her son Max without his father and her relationship with Stefan hasn’t been so comfortable since the botched up wedding. Meanwhile, Marie’s parents are experiencing some domestic strife themselves: Ernst is seriously getting on his wife Irene’s nerves with his ideas about how to run a household.
