As a young woman, Kate testified against her criminal husband Ted Kinnock. Kate was admitted into witness protection programme, because Ted swore after the sentencing to take revenge on her.
Kate lives since then happily in Cornwall with a new identity and her by this time grown-up son Channing. But the older Channing gets, all the more he wants to know, who his biological father is. Questions, which are only answered evasively by his mother.
Kate's contact person at the police, Dave, protected and helped her back then to disappear into the scenic coast village Oldport. In this exceptional situation both were getting closer than it was allowed and fell in love with each other. In order not to put Kate at risk, Dave needed to cut himself off from her.
By chance Channing finds now Kate´s old cell phone with just one stored contact: “Dave”. Could he be his father?
