The successful and fun-loving lawyer Owen inherits a mansion from his deceased great uncle. He travels to Cornwall with the intent of selling the estate. There he meets the single mother Holly, with whom he falls in love after an initial period of resentment. Things are finally looking up for Holly and her son, two years after the disappearance of her husband. But then mysterious incidents begin to occur. Holly is deeply disturbed upon receiving a blackmail letter. It seems someone has learned her secret. She turns to her old friend Lucas, in whom she confided in that eventful night two years ago. He only sees one possible culprit: Owen must be the person behind the mysterious occurrences. And even though she doesn’t want to believe it, Holly cannot think of any other explanation. She begins to lose trust in Owen.
